Our First Lady Evangelist Joyce Harden

The Prevailing Word of God Community Church

First Lady, Evangelist Joyce D. Harden, is married to her “best friend”, Pastor Anthony Harden, working alongside him in the Prevailing Word of God Community Church ministry.

She accepted Jesus Christ as her Lord and Savior at the age of 25, when God called her immediately to evangelize through street witnessing, on skid row, in prisons, juvenile facilities, and convalescent homes.  As a result of her passion to evangelize, her Pastor recommended her to be licensed.  She is a licensed Evangelist through the Church of God In Christ.  God gifted her to minister to youth, young adults and women.

She has established Youth and Young Adult Ministries in large and small churches and assisted with Women Ministries in various churches.  As a Youth/Young Adult Director, she has organized and taught/spoken at workshops, conferences and retreats.  In these settings, she has addressed real contemporary topics affecting young people daily; and has not retreated from discussing sensitive topics.  She has also established Evangelism Ministries in various churches, and traveled throughout California teaching various churches how to set up Nursery and Youth Ministries.  She also teaches Sunday School and Bible Studies.

God called First Lady Harden to be an advocate for children.  As a result of this calling, she is a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist, licensed by the Board of Behavioral Science in California.  She received a Master of Arts degree in Clinical Psychology, emphasis in Marriage and Family Therapy from Antioch University.  First Lady Harden presently has a Mental Health Private Practice working with all ages who need mental health services.

She has worked collaboratively with Children’s Court, Department of Children and Family Services (DCFS) and Department of Mental Health in developing a permanent placement plan for children who were detained from their parents, whether through adoption or reunification with their parents.  In addition she works with Zero (newborn) to 5 year old children, providing therapy to child and mother during these important years of development.

She is an advocate/mentor for young people inside and outside of the church.  She has worked with children, youth and adults in the mental health field.  She has supervised mental health professionals in non-profit organizations and Riverside County.
